Mary Cameron will get baptised on Sunday...her dress is a merging of two family heirlooms...Will's family's gown has been in the family for about 175 years and was worn by his great grandfather, etc, etc..A true antique and a real beaut...in mint condition...My family's gown is made with the lace from my mom's wedding veil... the final product consists of THREE count em' THREE layers for the little princess...a slip with her name and the date monogrammed on back..then the antique from the Martin side..and the overlay from the Beaty side...a few pictures to document...but they hardly do it justice...OF COURSE..she will be adorned by a small bonnet... After the service the masses will be headed to our house for lunch....prayers for both segments of the day are requested! Love to all........pictures of live event to follow

My friends..what a long while it has been. March has been seemingly busy, first one thing and then another. Wild Bill had a birthday on the 17th...My own little st. paddy's day lad...fun times! We've also had a family reunion of sorts..the fam from tennessee gathered at lollies house for an eventful few days..too bad the large oak tree t-shirts complete with labeled branches and a Bible verse to seal the deal were not handed out at the grand finale...great to see all of you..do come back again...if you dare.........ALSO, two of my bestest tied the knot..Katherine Frances George Iglay and Amber Nicole Moore Kinnaird...such happy couples...cupid got it right on those two! And alas, how could I forget little love, Mary Cameron. She will be getting baptised on Sunday at First Pres...we just can't wait...a special day for everyone...she'll be the one wearing what resembles a tablecloth (according to dear uncle cam)...the gown does have a bit of history...I'll tell about it on the next post......Until then....no spray tans....and do have those pets spayed and or neutered.......bye now!

So we ventured into the world of rice cereal on Saturday night...what a treat...the milk was beginning to get somewhat monotonous...it doesn't take much to please her these days. The Fair is Coming to Town...

So I just got home from the infamous "spray tan"...in preparation for my dear friend Katie's wedding this weekend....which proved to be the most awkward and invasive procedure I've ever been a part of. Let me set the scene for ya...Cute college girl (size 0 on her biggest day) up at the counter..you know the real bubbly..I love life type.....asked if I was ready...of course I'm not because I was told to arrive in no braziere (still nursing)...and clothes I didn't care about..and FULLY EXFOLIATED. I'm not even sure how exactly you go about exfoliating, but I picked up some cream at the local dollar general and gave myself a good rub down before entering the local tanning booth. On with the story...I was told to strip down...what...strip down...I just had a child 3 months ago..so one thing was for certain Cute College Girl (CCG) was about to feel even better about her little self...after big mama with the nursing bosoms revealed herself.....wearing a hairnet no less...like a scene out of the school cafeteria gone bad..........YIKES.........So I closed my eyes as the FRIGID subzero mist began to hit my post pardom bod......again I say YIKES...I asked CCG if she was awkward...of course the answer was no...and why would she be....she felt like a million bucks at this point......so the torture lasted about 15 minutes...I have a lovely orange film covering me..was told not to shower for 12 hours...and not to sweat...well I jovially said to the CCG...'you can tell I haven't been doing enough of that...expecting maybe a "no..you look good for just giving birth"...INSTEAD..she replied..."maybe you'll be able to do something soon.." which would have been fine if I hadn't just ran 3 stinkin miles before I went............Needless to say I look like a GLORIFIED FAIR WORKER...just a bit dirty ya know?? On a side note the only reason I got the stupid spray tan was because I have to jump off the roof to fit into the bridesmaid dress for the weekend...sort of resembling a busted can of biscuits... and I thought a tan busted can of biscuits might be easier on the eyes..............who knew...If you want a real adventure...go get yourself one of these....makes for an excellent Thursday night....

One Happy Kid!

Well...apparently January the month of doom and gloom was a bit livelier than usual for this group of pals. We have so many weddings on the horizon..that it is imparative to treat these gals to a night or two of FUN TIMES! Our dear lassie Katie is headed to the altar on February 7th..so a few of her closest decided to gather at a camphouse in the woods...for a glorified night of slumber..a true blast by any standards... Go get em' tiger!

I was gone to Houston last week for work stuff so MR MOM stepped up to the plate and did a great job...He had some help from Grammy and Papa in Columbus...way to go dad...sounded like it was quite a party...pity I wasn't invited

8 Weeks....and counting

Here is a brief update on the world of Martin in the past week....some big happenings I might add. Will started a new clinical rotation in Columbus, which he appears to be enjoying...and why not..he takes Mary Cameron to my grandparents house in the mornings and he is greeted by a steaming pile of breakfast meats, gravy, eggs, and homemade buscuits on a daily basis...tough..really. I on the other hand had a mild to moderate, depending on who was observing, breakdown Monday morning as our new routine began. It's really hard to leave the little munchkin...I mentioned to Will that before we knew it she would be headed to college...he told me to get serious.....so I tried. Also, the highlight of the week...Mary Cameron turned a whoping 2 months old..she's quite entertaining as of late...lots of smiles, flatulance that would rival a grown man, and she's now added snoring to the mix..a real trip I've posted a few pics from the week..enjoy!

I must give this jewel a shout out because she is 85..she checks my blog on her own high speed internet computer and she managed to live through raising my father....what a feat! We love you Nana, and from the looks of things...you've done this before!

lets give it up for a random post.....cameron and I gave mom and dad a painting for Christmas of the two of us when we were 5 and 2. The picture happens to be a fav of the rents, so why not recreate to a lifesize version so mom can stare at it above her prized piano as she tickles the ivorys for a mere 5 hours per day (give or take a few). It was a hit, and here we are in the above photo trying to recreate the facials...my how we've changed

After Santa came and went...we loaded up and headed to what Will likes to refer to as "God's Country"...He enjoys rolling down the windows as we approach what appears to be the city limits to soak up the "Delta air"...hey, who am I to get in the way of a boy's true love?? We had lots of good lovin' from Family, our favorite cousins, Laura Guyton and Maggie..., PLENTY of great food (thought about pulling the elastic waist band back out..but somehow refrained)...and of course some hunting for the hunter. Will's parents thoroughly enjoy spoiling the grandchildren, so I think it's safe to say that the little princess enjoyed her debut...and one could only hope that one day a girl like herself from the hills...could snag a good old delta boy like her mama did..they just don't grow em' like that in vegas!

Well..I must say this had to be the best Christmas ever! The saying is true....the best gifts come in small packages..Mary Cameron is SO much fun...she has started smiling now..Will and I are truly blessed by her everyday! I also included some pictures of Will's big surprise...A big DEERE..no certainly not anything with horns that could possibly be MOUNTED...the kind that will keep my hard in tact! Bless him...for those of you who might not know...WIll had a little lawn business to help with his school tuition...SO, needless to say...he has push mowed enough yards to last a lifetime! He was so excited..Mary Cameron and I wrapped up the key...and he began the freak out process...find pictures attached...it does resemble a small child on a power wheels...the gift that keeps on giving...vroom vroom! An additional shout out to Lollie and Pop for a wonderful Christmas in Candyland (their house)..You guys are the best...hey let's do this again sometime..eh?

Yesterday, my darling hubby and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary..doesn't that qualify as gold or silver or something? Perhaps not, but I must say that William Howard is the most wonderful husband a gal could ask for..afterall..he is my baby's daddy! Much love to you DARLING DEAR..and here's to many many more!

An interesting note is that we found ourselves celebrating a bit differently than before. Perched in a corner booth at the local Chilies establishment and going home to snuggle up and watch a DVD we rented was a far cry from the first two anniversarys spent skiing atop beautiful snow covered mountains in Colorado! My how things change, but hey..."All you need is LOVE"...Right?

Porch Swangs, Sweet Thangs, and Wedding Rangs

I had to post a few pics of the newest front porch accessories. I suppose it's only logical that all front porches have a rocker or two and a swing for lazy Sunday afternoons, or lazy moms who prefer to rock rather than anything else semi productive! So....Will and Pop got to work on that this weekend...good thing for Pop because unfortunately, he exceeded the weight limit on the rockers...so he will be able to swing until his heart is content (alone or with his 10lb granddaughter, but no one else!)

Also, this weekend we had a visit from Will's parents to see Mary Cameron...people travel far and wide to see this tot..well worth the mileage..if we do say so ourselves!

To round things out on Sunday, I hosted a wedding shower for my dear friend Katie West in Jackson...She's the greatest and we had a swell time chugging punch, eating grapes and cheese off of something that resembled a Christmas tree, and of course, nothing compares to my lifelong comrades who adorned the room, looking lovelier than ever! Merry Christmas to all!

Well, here we are in all our glory. Yes...Mary Cameron had her debut as Jesus (thank goodness no one peeked under the swaddle to find out that "he" was in fact a "she") at the church nativity scene. It was sleeting outside, and "Mary" was a bit hesitant to let her 3 week old out in such conditions, but I was reassured by my darling brother, the youth minister, that Mary Cameron was playing Jesus..there was no possible way she would or could get sick...so....we packed up the swaddle and all the garb, and headed for the manger scene. She did great...no outburst...a fairly peaceful, laid back Jesus... perhaps she'll get asked again! This post is also dedicated to my dear friend Mary Frances Parham Odom who loves the fact that I have a blog, and can't seem to admit quite yet that she really would love to have one as well....Holla if you hear me francine

Nursery By Request

So this is where the princess resides...or at least this is where the princess will reside when she decides it's really not that cool to sleep in between your parents every night! Her nursery is a conglomeration of old and new stuff...mostly old family pieces. Her crib is the crib Cameron and I slept in..it just got a face lift, her bed was Will's grandmother's bed, and her vanity was an old family piece. Her shelves are also adorned with many old family pictures....they just don' t make all of this stuff like they used to!

So...Will and I escaped for a bit on Friday night for our Supper Club Christmas party and left Mary Cameron with Lollie. It was a nice change of scenery, but I must admit, I was the paranoid parent I swore I would never be...checking my phone every five minutes (just in case!) Lollie had a lovely night with our sweet baby, and Will and I had a swell time as well! It was so interesting..we had about 10 couples, but in true junior high fashion...the girls sat at one big table and the guys at the other....needless to say they didn' t make the picture cut!

They have been such a tremendous help in the first few weeks of Mary Cameron's life...We certainly couldn't have made it without them!

At two weeks and three days, Mary Cameron is looking forward to her first Christmas!

Guess who's blogging....

So here's my blog...in all its glory I might add. I was facing major pressure from the outside blogging world to start one of these things...so I finally caved, and here's my best attempt! I'd like to say on record that I'm technologically challenged to put it lightly. I mean I just got text messaging, and that's only because I was receiving text from my GRANDMOTHER, yes I said grandmother, so again...I thought it was time.

My disclaimer is that my blog will not be updated daily, my posts will not be as clever or as witty as my fathers, and my page is certainly not in the league creatively, as most of you veteran blogging champs...So now that we've cleared the air on all of that...I'm happy to be here...and look forward to a life full of happy blogging! Mary Cameron was born on November 14th at 10:31am. She was 8lbs. 15 oz and 21 1/4 in. She is beautiful and we are so blessed to have her! Uncle Cameron (her namesake) is admiring his new niece.
